Job Description

Job Summary

This team member works with the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) team and is responsible for providing substance abuse counseling, interventions and education to clients with severe and persistent mental illness as well as co-occurring substance use disorders. The Integrated Treatment Specialist (ITS) will be responsible for assessing each client’s stage of change, using motivational interviewing, and stage wise interventions to assist client in living successfully and to their satisfaction in the community. The ITS will also be responsible for facilitating weekly therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for clients enrolled in the IDDT program. The ITS will not only work closely with consumers but will also work to involve natural supports in the client’s treatment. This team member will work with the Team Leader to monitor and promote IDDT fidelity and outcomes. The hours of employment may vary depending on the needs of the clients, including possible evenings and weekends. This position requires transporting clients in personal automobile and assisting clients in a variety of community settings and neighborhoods.

Experience: Two years of experience in mental health field and/or experience working with adults with chronic mental illnesses preferred and at least two years of experience working in the substance use treatment field. Experience working with individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders. Supervisory experience not required but desirable. 

Requirements: Must have an automobile, obtain a valid Missouri Class E driver’s license (upon hire) with a clean driving record and current automobile insurance with required coverage limits.
